Editorial Policy

This page describes how guides on PetMeDaily are researched, written, reviewed and corrected. It is written to be held to.

What We Publish

Care guides for fish, dogs and cats: species profiles, tank and habitat setup, feeding, behaviour, and identifying common problems. We also run a small shop. Guides and products are written separately, and a guide never recommends a product because we happen to sell it.

How A Guide Is Researched

• We start from primary sources: veterinary and aquatic literature, manufacturer specifications, and species data from recognised databases.
• Where a claim is contested, we say so rather than picking the tidier answer.
• Numbers that matter, such as tank volumes, water parameters, temperatures and dosages, are checked against at least two independent sources.
• We write from keeping experience where we have it, and say plainly when we do not.

Review And Sign Off

Every guide is read by an editor before it publishes. The editor checks that the question in the title is answered in the opening lines, that every number is sourced, and that nothing reads as medical instruction.

This Is Not Veterinary Advice

Nothing here replaces a consultation. If an animal is unwell, injured, not eating, or behaving unusually, contact a veterinarian. Guides on this site are written to help you ask better questions and to handle routine care, not to diagnose or treat.

Corrections

We correct errors in place rather than quietly deleting them. A corrected guide records what changed and when. If you have found something wrong, tell us at admin@petmedaily.com and we will look at it. Reporting an error is genuinely useful and we would rather hear it.

Contributed And Sponsored Content

We accept contributed articles from writers, owners and professionals, and our write for us page explains how. Contributed work is edited to the same standard as everything else and is rejected if it does not meet it. Some content on this site is paid for or includes commercial links.

How We Are Funded

PetMeDaily is funded by the shop and by commercial partnerships. That funding does not buy a recommendation inside a care guide, and no partner sees a guide before it publishes.
